Khiva

Khiva is a city in the Khorezm oasis in the north-west of Uzbekistan. The inner town of Itchan Kala is ringed by mud-brick walls and listed by UNESCO as a whole: the Kalta Minor minaret, the Tash Hauli palace, the Muhammad Amin Khan madrasa.

The nearest airport is Urgench, half an hour by car.
